  • keynote Is it safe...to be online today and tomorrow?

< back Is it safe...to be online today and tomorrow? How to create a secure climate by embracing technology and change More detailed information The global media attention for cybersecurity incidents has an impact on the role of executive management about information security, much more than most executives are willing to admit. Consumers are holding organisations responsible whenever there is a cybersecurity incident that compromises their information and investors are holding organisations responsible when there is a cybersecurity incident because of the financial losses that occur and the devaluation of the organisation on the market. Can any executive honestly claim cybersecurity is not their responsibility? Unfortunately, still too many executives completely delegate the cybersecurity responsibility to IT since they are convinced it contains too many technical elements. This presentation explains how to create a secure climate by embracing technology and change. Executives will learn how to view cybersecurity no longer as an IT expense, but as a critical success factor to long term success. This is done by showing to executive management and CIOs the top 3 internal and external threats on cybersecurity, but also the top 3 cyber resilience solutions for organisations today. • keynote The good, the bad and the ugly of AI

< back The good, the bad and the ugly of AI AI has existed for some time, but we are coming to the tipping point: the popularity increases over time, yet there is tension caused by the negative effects of or fear for AI. More detailed information AI applications are regularly being developed, but the exciting world of opportunities and possibilities includes other issues: privacy, ethics, energy consumption and liability. The discrepancy between what the developers create, what the customer buys, and what the government wants has increased the complexity bias. In this session, we will split the issues in the good, the bad and the ugly. The good: AI exceeds human intelligence when it gets to areas such as speed of processing, knowledge transfer, decision accuracy and operational modus. However, the human brain still wins on storage size, energy usage and parallel processing and many more points. We need to accept the fact that both forms of intelligence are good, but different. The bad: A successful AI project isn’t only about data and technologies, but also processes and people. The bad refers to the typical mistakes made by a company. They can include incorrect training data to match the context, incorrect usage of learning algorithms and unconscious bias. The ugly: Some issues aren’t mistakes, but purposeful approaches: fake news, autogenerated speech used to fake video speeches for instance, and more. It is a strong call for 'security by design' and protection for algorithms through legal frameworks, which are currently created. • keynote The Customer of The Now-Future

< back The Customer of The Now-Future In this talk, Gerrie shows you how to understand consumer-centric trends to use them in your own context. Don’t pre-dict, but start pre-pare for the now-future. More detailed information Trying to predict the future is pretty pointless, really. Instead, it's much more useful if we unravel current trends and map its potential impact on the customer. Sure, the customer of the Now-Future is tech-enabled, but what is the effect this has? Hyper-personalisation, Digitally Connected,… What is happening now that we can extrapolate into the future? Also, the customer of the Now-Future will still be a human (in most cases). So how do we use available tools to better understand deeper emotional and social needs? What if wearables can capture our emotions? And thirdly, customers of the Now-Future will be more aware. It is very likely that people will have different expectations from organizations, brands and CEOs when it comes to transparency, privacy, digital detox and societal impact. • keynote Rethinking leadership for a sustainable future

< back Rethinking leadership for a sustainable future How to become a sustainable leader More detailed information The most successful groups are not the ones with one overachieving star who has a very high IQ, nor the ones with the highest aggregate IQ, the really successful teams have three characteristics: They show high degrees of social sensitivity to each other, they have high empathy, and inclusion is high They give equal time to each other, no one feels dominated, but no one sits on the passenger seat, they belong They have more diversity; diverse groups do better, are smarter, and that is because of their diverse perspectives on a problem. Companies do not have ideas, only people do. To solve the greatest challenges of the century (climate change), to transform themselves, they need people. In the executive offices, they even need leaders.
