In this interactive workshop, Lien introduces participants to the power of futures literacy and scenario thinking as essential tools for navigating uncertainty and shaping sustainable strategies.
Drawing on the Arup Model on Possible 2050 Futures, the session explores both hopeful and dystopian pathways, helping participants better understand the consequences of key trends and uncertainties. Through hands-on methods such as the Futures Wheel and Scenario Mapping, attendees learn to critically examine their assumptions, broaden their perspectives, and imagine a wider spectrum of future outcomes.

Lien is a futurist, international author and keynote speaker, recognized as one of Belgium’s 40 under 40 and a member of the renowned Explorers Club in New York.
She is co-founder of ELDERS, a change agency helping governments and organizations harness imagination for sustainable transitions.
With a background in creative strategy and sustainability, she has led participatory processes and behavior change projects on urban, regional and national levels.
Beyond ELDERS, Lien is a futures professor and researcher at LUCA School of Arts.
As an avid adventurer and conservation diver, she has crossed the Gobi desert, explored both the Arctic as Antarctica, and swum with whales and orcas.
