In 2014, Merijn Tinga built a surfboard from plastic washed ashore and surfed along the Dutch coastline. That action made one thing clear: awareness alone is not enough to create real change.
Since then, Merijn has focused on where impact truly happens - with companies, policymakers, and decision-making processes. His expeditions and campaigns have contributed to political resolutions, product bans, and the introduction of deposit return systems.
