About Kevin

I was born with a rare form of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) called Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Greater Arteries.
At birth my parents were told I would not survive.
My chest has been open for reconstructive heart surgery 7 times. I’ve had 3 pacemakers 2 defibrillators 2 strokes endocarditis numerous times leading to end stage heart failure at 37.
Luckily I received a heart transplant May 4 2013 and it changed my life.
I took up cycling as a mark of respect for my donor who lost his life in a cycling accident and have done multiple long distance rides to raise awareness of the need for more people to join the organ... Read more
