Cognitive ecosystems where agentic AI meets human wisdom

Designing organisations where human wisdom and intelligent technologies continuously strengthen one another.
More detailed information
Based on the extensively rewritten 2026 edition of Katja Schipperheijn’s Learning Ecosystems, this keynote explores how organisations can build Cognitive Learning Ecosystems in which people, knowledge, data and technology continuously strengthen one another.
As AI, Agentic AI and predictive technologies reshape how knowledge is created, accessed and applied, learning needs to become part of the organisation’s architecture rather than remain a separate function. Katja deliberately pushes audiences beyond what feels possible today, using innovations that seem to come from the future, such as brain-computer interfaces, lab-grown neural systems and emerging human-machine superminds, to explore how human and artificial intelligence may increasingly amplify one another.
You’ll discover:
Why understanding Cognitive Learning Ecosystems is essential for adaptability, innovation and continuous improvement
How to connect people, knowledge, data and technology so knowledge and learning can flow across the organisation
How Agentic AI and MCP-based architectures can enable a freer flow of knowledge between systems, agents and people
Why organisations need to move beyond skills and connect tasks, competencies, knowledge and emerging needs
How predictive technologies and data can help anticipate what people and organisations need next
How to combine artificial intelligence with human competencies, psychological safety and experimentation
Who is this keynote for?
For executives, CIOs, CDOs and senior leaders responsible for strategy, transformation, technology, people or organisational design. The strongest impact comes from bringing different perspectives together, as Cognitive Learning Ecosystems cannot be designed from within a single silo.
Optional Strategic Workshop
The keynote can be extended with a cross-functional workshop bringing together leaders from strategy, technology, data, HR, L&D, innovation and operations. Using Algorithmic Business Thinking, Design Thinking, Katja’s Organiational Maturity Model, and the Paradigm of Learning Needs, participants assess the current ecosystem and design a more connected, cognitive, and future-ready architecture.
Katja Schipperheijn is an executive advisor, keynote speaker and author working at the intersection of leadership, human wisdom and artificial intelligence. Through her research, models and active role in developing cognitive tools and architectures, she explores how organisations can navigate Perpetual Liminality and create environments where humans and AI strengthen one another.

Through Habit of Improvement and The Learning Mindset Organisation, Katja advises multinational organisations, governments, and leadership teams worldwide, translating complex technological and organisational challenges into practical strategies.
Her work is built on original models and concepts including Learning Mindset, Liminal Leadership, Cognitive Learning Ecosystems and The Paradigm of Learning Moments. These are grounded in years of international practice and research, complemented by global data from the Learning Mindset Amplifier, a diagnostic tool she developed herself, including the underlying algorithm. This rich foundation allows her to tailor every keynote and advisory engagement to the audience and context, connecting human competencies such as curiosity, imagination, openness, empathy, resilience and consilience with the uncertainty of perpetual liminal times.
Katja’s thinking is captured in her books The Learning Mindset: Combining Human Competencies with Technology to Thrive and Learning Ecosystems: Creating Innovative, Lean & Tech-driven Learning Strategies. The first edition of Learning Ecosystems was translated into multiple languages, while its extensively rewritten 2026 edition introduces new models such as Cognitive Learning Ecosystems and the Paradigm of Learning Needs as AI becomes increasingly predictive.
Her grounding is more technical than the field norm. Behind the human-centred perspective is a degree in Applied Economics, an MBA from Antwerp Management School and MIT Sloan executive certifications, including Learning Technologies and Algorithmic Business Thinking. This formal education is matched by a never-ending pursuit of practical widom and knowledge ranging from philosophy to cognitive architectures. Combined with her expertise in the psychology of sales, behavioural science and leadership development, this breadth allows her to move comfortably between how people think and decide, how organisations function, and the technologies reshaping both.
Katja is also deeply committed to social impact. Over the years, her work has reached more than 15,000 children. Today, she personally visits children around the world growing up in some of the most challenging circumstances, exploring how human competencies can help them learn, adapt, and engage with technology in ways that strengthen their future opportunities. Her work connects these experiences with the UN SDGs and with her broader belief that learning should be available to help every child navigate an increasingly complex world.
The insights Katja gains through her philanthropic work also shape her keynotes, helping audiences better understand different realities and expectations across generations. Booking Katja also extends beyond the stage, as part of her speaking fee contributes directly to the social projects she supports.
